A new hub for live music is coming to downtown State College just in time for the New Year! Manny’s Live Performance Space, located at 101 Hiester Street, will hold its soft opening on New Year’s Eve. The venue is the brainchild of Corey Elbin, the DJ, artist, and event organizer behind Gorinto Productions, a name familiar to music lovers in the area for organizing Rhoneymeade Fest, monthly dance parties at 3 Dots, an experimental music series at Zeno’s, and other vibrant local events.

The New Year’s Eve celebration will kick off at 8 p.m. with performances by Pernett, Doo Crowder, and Luisa Mei, as well as DJs spinning throughout the night. The venue, named in honor of Elbin’s beloved pet cat Manny, promises to bring an exciting new vibe to the downtown music scene.

“Manny’s will offer a performance space that fills the needs of many community members,”  said Corey Elbin. “On top of International Musicians coming to Manny’s to perform concerts for the Secret Planet music series, we look to partner with student organizations, the local DIY scene and PSU Arts to offer the space for all ages events, providing a top-tier sound and visual experience in a classic vibey downtown location.  Local musicians will share the stage with national acts, with the focus being on immersion in creativity and expression.  We can’t wait to work with local chefs, restaurants and breweries!  We are also committed to providing a welcoming space for those who are looking for an alternative to traditional bar settings.”

When asked about the venue’s location, Elbin answered, “Downtown State College has been such an inspiring canvas for Gorinto Productions to be able to produce and curate memorable and transformative events!  The success and excitement behind our flagship events like Rhoneymeade Fest and the Pugh Street Shutdowns, are directly linked to the energy in the downtown businesses and overall community support.  Arts-forward visionaries like 3 Dots Downtown and Webster’s have consistently been amazing partners and sources of inspiration in dreaming up what can be created and explored.  The State College Borough, Happy Valley Adventure Bureau and Downtown Improvement District are such dedicated partners in supporting and fostering creative and diverse arts for the Central PA region.”

Lee Anne Jeffries, Executive Director of the Downtown State College Improvement District, echoed the excitement surrounding the venue’s opening. “Manny’s is a welcome addition to the downtown district,” she said. “Corey has been a part of the local music scene for years, and his efforts have brought countless innovative events to our town. His vision for Manny’s is a perfect fit for the vibrant energy of downtown State College, and we’re excited to support a space that will foster community and bring new opportunities for both local and international artists.”

As the venue settles into its new home, Manny’s will be a dynamic addition to the downtown State College arts scene. To stay updated on events or inquire about collaborations or space rentals, follow @mannysstatecollege and @gorintoproductions on Instagram.
