In the mid-1980s, a college student and his mom came up with an idea that would change campus life forever: calzones. Dan and Penny named their new restaurant D.P. Dough after their initials, and the first location opened in 1987. Today, D.P. Dough delivers ooey, gooey, cheesy happiness on and around college campuses across the United States.
While a good slice of pizza has its place, D.P. Dough doesn’t sell it—because calzones are better. Since the days before slap bracelets were cool, D.P. Dough has been turning adventurous pizza lovers into loyal calzone fans, from college students to anyone young at heart.
