Location: State College Borough Municipal Building, Room 241, Second Floor
Host: Evie Pavlina
Join local artist and professional illustrator Eve Pavlina (@evie) for a fun workshop learning how to carve your own stamp from pink erasers, and how to use them to transform your clothes! In this beginner workshop, participants will learn how to choose a design, the basics of carving, and how to print onto clothing. Old clothes make up a large portion of trash filling landfills, so wearing garments as long as possible is a sustainable habit. Using stamps to refresh your clothes is a fun and creative way to be more eco-friendly! This workshop is limited to 15 participants, first come first serve. As carving tools will be used, participants must be 12 years or older.

As you move through the winding path, you’ll encounter thought-provoking messages that highlight the impact of our waste and the power of sustainable choices. This mindful journey offers a chance to pause, reflect, and connect with the Earth—and consider how small changes can lead to a healthier planet.
Engagement Stations
Middle Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association
Our workshop will examine the hydrological differences between impervious surfaces and natural landscapes. Participants will be able to pour water into each container and examine the differences in how water percolates through each soil profile. Additionally, we will display aquatic macroinvertebrate communities associated with each landscape, allowing participants to observe the differences in biodiversity between each landscape. The goal of this workshop is to illustrate how vegetated landscapes slow stormwater runoff and capture excess sediment and other pollutants. Secondarily, it will encourage participants to advocate for vegetated buffer zones in commercial, residential, and industrial zones.
